Parsi New Year is a regional festival celebrated on the first day of Farvar, the first month of the Zoroastrian calendar. It is also commonly known as Novoraj which comes from the Persian word Nav and ROZ. Which means new day.
Every year is celebrated around the spring equinox however the Indian community does not count the leap year following the Shahenshah calendar.
Due to which the celebration of this day has now changed 200 days from the original date of the spring equinox. Due to which the Persian New Year in India is going to be celebrated on Monday the 16th of August.
